Playful and experimental, Arvilla explores different materials and techniques through his Studies series. Collaged paper immersed in layers of wax, incised furrows rubbed with pigment, transferred carbon, stamped typographies and burnt surfaces all play out in these small vignettes. From his homage to his father the tailor, to the snapshot of a volcanic eruption, each work encapsulates a story through a free exploration of forms.
